For the past few months, I've been pretty dead set that I would do my study abroad in the Middle East, maybe Jordan maybe Turkey.
But Jordan is only a month trip and then Turkey....I wouldn't be using my Arabic. (which still seems pretty worthless, like oh I just managed to learn a whole new language and I'm just going to act like that was easy and just for some weird sense of "accomplishment")
I keep thinking maybe I should be looking elsewhere to. Go to another country I've never been to like India or revisit an old one like Ireland. (yes the I's have been good to me so far)
I just want to experience something new and be forced into that situation of familiar uncomfortable-ness. Meet new people, learn new things, blah blah blah
I don't want to miss this chance in my life that I can just pickup some of my junk and board a plane; just go and not have to worry about bills, kids...............and have time for myself. and be kind of selfish.

politics.
Im beginning to identify as something less than liberal, which is scary for someone who formed every politic opinion on a liberal identity and has maintained such for the last 5 years.
Back in 2008 when Obama was campaigning hope and change, I begged my sister to get up, go out and vote, for him
Now for 2012, lets just say I have no idea WHO I will be voting for. It was Obama for the last 3 years, and now....Im listening to the Republican nominees.
A few things Im lost on:
are how can a Republican candidate be "Prolife" but be FOR the death penalty, FOR war and aggressive military actions,
THEN Obama a liberal....someone I think is a decent guy and family man, is for the killing of babies in the womb but against the death penalty....
A major problem I have with the Republican Party as a whole....is how you CANNOT criticize within the party. sure the nominees can have cat fights on national TV but on a regular basis its just all the republicans defending/supporting each other, even when they disagree (you can tell because the republican just keeps his/hers mouth shut) constructive criticism= growth.
then theres the scandals. people like newt Gingrich and bill o Reilly, cheat on their wives, and divorce regularly and they get awards for being so "moral" and you dont see conservatives throwing them under the bus.
Fun fact: newt gingrich was cheating on his current wife with his future and current 3rd wife when he heading the oust bill clinton BS.
its almost better to support liberals, because atleast they dont pretend to be extremely religious/moral creatures like their conservative counterparts who are wolves in sheeps clothing.....
i do however like Buddy Roemer, and I admire the fact Rick Santorum sticks to his beliefs and i fairly open about them. (see no surprises Romney?) even though a chunk of his positions do not align with Catholic Church teaching like evolution, death penalty...(and then his hatred for gay people is really.....displeasing)
oh Obama why cant you just be Prolife? and you shouldve just vetoed that last lil bill.....
